The Netflix series “Apple Cider Vinegar” was difficult to watch (IMO) since it focused on people dying from various kinds of cancer. During each episode, I couldn’t help but think that Big Pharma was behind the production of this anti-alternative medicine and therapies series.
Each episode opened with the disclaimer that some things were true and some dramatized and fake. However, the series painted an extremely negative picture on alternatives to traditional medicine, such as plant-based medicine, juicing protocols, cleanses and colonics. Anyone who declined an extreme surgery, i.e. amputation, or chemotherapy died. Further, people who questioned the doctors were positioned as being irrational and hysterical.
The distrust of the FDA and the entire medical system has grown tremendously. With the growth of the Health & Wellness industry providing real ways to get healthy and stay healthy, traditional medicine has become a last resort for many. There is too much commingling between physicians, medical school and the pharmaceutical industry. The system has been broken since its inception and people now know this to be true. Are there procedures, preventive measures and miracle drugs that fall under traditional medicine? Absolutely! However, the foundation of the pharmaceutical industry being to treat and not to cure, on top of an exhaustive list of side effects that cause the need for more drugs, has tainted the entire industry. Not to mention the bulk of Big Food companies poisoning society. There is an unraveling and refocussing that is long overdue.
The timing for the launch of this series is quite suspicious since the movement against both Big Food and Big Pharma has major momentum. While traditional medicine is up in arms, most people welcome the movement towards a better system of healthcare for all focussed on cures and overall better health. Maybe the time is now (hopefully!).
